Gerber cloth diapers can be used with vinyl diaper covers. These diaper covers add an extra bit of protection for wetness but they are not mandatory. Most people find that using Gerber cloth diapers by themselves is enough.

If you think you might not have access to a changing table, using diaper covers is good insurance. Some people do use covers for Gerber cloth diapers, but its really up to the person. I would recommend always having some on hand just in case you are worried about needing extra protection.

The term bulky may be unfair. Its not as thought they are big and cumbersome. You can buy plastic pants which are relatively thin. Its just that some babies are particularly sensitive to any number of things. I cant begin to make a blanket statement that your baby will love plastic pants. Theres just no telling.

However, those parents who put their babies in plastic pants swear by them. They like knowing that their baby has extra wetness protection at all times. Should a diaper break for some reason, its an extra layer of protection. When diapers break, blankets, sheets, clothing, and car seats become wet as well so its very important to guard against this.

A potty training DVD is enormously important for helping your child move to the next level. I should know. I have a two-year-old and were currently in the process of trying to potty train her. My wife claims that she was potty-trained at a year old but this is fairly unrealistic.

The main reason is that it helps to be able to communicate verbally with your child during potty training, and most one-year-olds dont have the capacity. We can now say, Do you need to go potty? and she knows exactly what were saying. Even so, it is a long and sometimes frustrating process.

Theres no shame in getting some help. Even if you dont let your child watch a lot of TV, using a potty training DVD can help a lot. In fact, if she doesnt watch a lot of TV, she may pay even closer attention to the TV and what its saying because it will seem more special.

My wife and I use every tactic. We have a potty training DVD, a potty training book, we sing songs, everything. The point is to make it an enjoyable process and not put too much pressure on the child. Potty training is a big step and it is important to ease your child rather than being too forceful.

Potty training videos can mean the difference between succeeding or failing–ultimately it can quicken the process of potty training. Books are helpful, especially if your child has an attachment to books. Nothing works so well as an actual living example.
